Living with dementia can often be a scary prospect, therefore is vitally important to always support and encourage residents to live well with dementia.
Many of our homes promote this through their activities programmes, none more so than Whitecraigs care home who, as part of their wellbeing programme, have been attending the dementia friendly concerts at Glasgow’s prestigious Concert Hall.
The Celtic Connections initiative is scheduled to hold five of these events hosting various artists and playing a mixture of traditional and Scottish music. This week welcomed Ainsley Hamill on vocals and Alistair Patterson on piano. To the delight of our residents, both artists came over to speak with and take pictures with residents.
Our residents at Whitecraigs had a fantastic day and enjoyed the whole experience, made even more incredible by the generosity of the Coop funeral group who kindly donated a limousine to transport residents.
This really is community support and engagement at its finest, collectively working together to enhance the lives of others.
