My life as a Mother by Susan Venesky

My name is Susan Venesky, I currently reside in Rosehill/Rosepark care home. I have only lived here for a short period but I’m greatly enjoying my experience.

Growing up, I lived in Airdrie with my mum, dad, three sisters and brother. Family has always meant a lot to me and has always been such an important part of my life. Growing up in a large family, I always knew I wanted my own family and children one day, it’s something I looked forward to.

I met my husband Patric when I was 30 and ended up having kids when I was older than many of my generation. I have one daughter called Zena, and a son called Patric, named after his father.

Our family life was extremely happy. When my children were growing up we always took holidays together in my friends' caravan which was based in Portobello. However, our favourite thing to do was go camping, adventures on the beach and being outdoors always brought us great joy.

As our children grew, our family expanded as we welcomed three delightful grandchildren. We were absolutely delighted and so please that both Zena and Patric went on to experience the joy of parenthood and how special it is to have children of your own.

As I get older, I value all the time I spend with my kids and grandkids. They are my absolute world and not a day goes by that I’m not grateful to be their mother and grandmother.

Every Mother's Day, my family show me how much they love and appreciate me and everything I have done for them.

To sum it up in three words, Family is Everything ❤️HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, love Susan x
