Our care homes are different

They are places of passion and purpose, of connection and excitement, somewhere to fuel the imagination and to spark an appetite for life. At Renaissance Care, we’ve created a joyful, dynamic community where wellbeing is prioritised, and life is celebrated every single day.

What does wellbeing mean?

To us, it means nurturing every aspect of our residents’ lives - physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical. It’s about uncovering their passions and providing meaningful experiences that inspire and engage.

By working together and maintaining personal connections with the people, communities, and interests that matter most, we believe your time in your new home will be filled with laughter, fun, and love.

Care Home Activities

We're passionate about crafting memorable, stimulating activities for our residents, always keeping their needs and desires at the heart of what we do. Our team creates experiences that residents and their families can genuinely enjoy together.

A perfect example of how our homes bring this to life is Jesmond Care Home’s latest wellbeing addition - an in-home train experience.  Designed to be stimulating and adaptable for changing needs, this unique space offers:

  • A space for residents to enjoy a high tea and quality time with family and loved ones
  • A catalyst for conversation and reminiscence
  • And interactive journeys with endless possibilities... residents can 'embark' on scenic routes, tour the Scottish countryside, or enjoy a snowy train ride all winter long.

Its creative care that brings new adventures right to our people.

  • "They take us out on lovely trips.. the food is superb.. I don't know what else I can say. I am so happy to be here, and the bonus is my husband is also here, so we have a lovely time" Olive, Resident at Glencairn

Your Care, Your Way

Our philosophy is simple: your care, your way.
Our role is to support residents to continue enjoying the hobbies and interests that matter most to them. Whether you love reading, gardening, spending time with loved ones, or seeking adventure on day excursions, we’ll support you to live as happily and independently as possible - with choice and opportunity in abundance.

It’s entirely up to you whether you’d like to sit back and relax or get involved in everyday tasks around the home - from DIY with our maintenance team and laundry with our housekeepers, to food prep with our chefs. Anything is possible, and we actively encourage participation so everyone feels valued and included during their stay.

we believe its never too late to live a life full of passion and purpose. We partner with a range of professionals and organisations to offer inclusive, adaptable activities for all abilities.

What is an activities coordinator?

Our wellbeing leads, formerly known as activities coordinators, take pride in planning and facilitating meaningful experiences and stimulating activities for our care home residents. This change of title reflects that earlier description of wellbeing, emphasising their role in enhancing every facet of our residents' lives.

Within their day-to-day, our Wellbeing Leads construct inventive experiences and activities to surprise and delight. Your loved one could find themselves mixing cocktails or cheering on their favourite football team, exploring the world using virtual travel technology or planting bulbs in the gardens. The choice is always theirs.

With a significant focus on health and wellbeing - this resident-led method encourages everyone to enjoy independent living in a safe, supportive environment.

  • "I like it here and getting everything done for me. I like to try help when I can. Everyone is so lovely and takes care of me." Betty, Whitecraigs Resident
  • "Whenever I visit I always feel very welcome. I really struggled with the decision to place my mum in a care home but I feel that staff have put my mind completely at ease as I know she is being very well cared for and I cannot thank you all enough." Relative, Persley Castle
  • ‘I love making a difference in people’s lives. Having the opportunity to introduce new experiences or create moments that are meaningful for residents is something special. It’s certainly a job that I’m proud to do.’ Jade, Wellbeing Lead
