Renaissance Care has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Berelands House, a care home located in the coastal town of Prestwick, Ayrshire. The acquisition brings the total number of homes operated by the group to 19 across Scotland.

With over 20 years’ experience, Renaissance Care delivers high-quality, person-led care for older adults throughout the country. Founded by Scottish entrepreneur Dr Robert Kilgour, the group operates care homes across a wide geographic footprint, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ayr, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Blairgowrie, Inverness and Moray.

Berelands House is already a special care home, with a strong focus on quality care, meaningful lifestyles and maintaining close community connections. These strong foundations are something we are very much looking forward to nurturing and enhancing

Berelands House offers 63 bedrooms and provides residential and nursing care for older adults, including those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. In April, the home received “very good” ratings across two quality indicators following an unannounced inspection by the Care Inspectorate.

Yvonne Richardson, Operations Director at Renaissance Care, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Berelands House into the Renaissance Care group as our 19th home in Scotland.

“Berelands House is already a special care home, with a strong focus on quality care, meaningful lifestyles and maintaining close community connections. These strong foundations are something we are very much looking forward to nurturing and enhancing.

“The team and residents are a wonderful addition to our group and already align closely with our people-first culture and values.”

The acquisition further strengthens Renaissance Care’s presence across Glasgow and Ayrshire and will support greater collaboration and shared expertise across the region.
