WYNDWELL CARE HOME, PETERHEAD, ANNOUNCED AS WINNER IN SCOTTISH CARE AWARDS 2025
The team from Renaissance Care’s Wyndwell Care Home in Peterhead has been honoured with an esteemed recognition at the Scottish Care Awards 2025, a prestigious evening ceremony celebrating the best of the independent care home sector in Scotland.
In Scotland, 87% of adult care home support is provided by the independent sector, caring for around 28,000 older individuals and employing nearly 45,900 dedicated staff.
Renaissance Care has won the Meaningful Activity Award category at the Scottish Care Awards 2025. This award recognises creativity, commitment, and achievement in the provision of meaningful activity programmes in care homes.
Supported by the home manager, Wyndwell has brought community and local celebrations into the home, centring its activities around meaningful engagement - inclusive of all abilities, interests, and roles within the home.
At Wyndwell, activities are now central to the quality of care, demonstrating innovation, inclusion, and passion at every level. This is working together at its very best

Lynn Anderson, home manager, collected the award alongside members of the Wyndwell team on behalf of the home at an awards ceremony on Friday 14 November at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow. The awards ceremony was hosted by Michelle McManus, with over 500 people attending.
Lynn was delighted to have been recognised and said:
“I am very surprised but thrilled and honoured to be chosen as a winner in these prestigious awards.”
Kirstene Feenan, Marketing Director at Renaissance Care, said:
“What makes the Wyndwell team unique is the way they have made activities part of everyone’s role, ensuring that wellbeing is at the centre of care. Activities are no longer the responsibility of one individual; instead, every member of staff contributes to creating moments of joy, connection, and purpose.
At Wyndwell, activities are now central to the quality of care, demonstrating innovation, inclusion, and passion at every level. This is working together at its very best.”
This year's awards received a substantial record number of entries, a testament to the excellent work taking place in care homes across Scotland. Care homes, often unsung heroes in the community, received their moment in the spotlight, showcasing the passion and commitment of those who work to ensure residents live their fullest lives.
Scottish Care has proudly hosted the National Care Home Awards for the past 21 years, establishing itself as the largest ceremony of its kind in Scotland and championing the pivotal role of care homes and their workforce in society.
