A Leadership Journey Rooted in Care
Since joining Beech Manor in April 2025, Natasha Cowan has established herself as a dedicated and compassionate leader. Driven by a lifelong passion for people, Natasha is committed to ensuring both residents and colleagues feel comfortable, confident, and empowered.
Natasha’s leadership is built on a foundation of "on-the-ground" experience. With a long-standing career rooted in care, she has worked her way from Care Assistant to, most recently, Home Management.
After initially joining Benvie Care Home in 2011, Natasha’s drive to advance her clinical expertise saw her earn a degree in Adult Nursing in 2019. She later returned to the front lines at Benvie as a Staff Nurse, where her natural aptitude for leadership led to a promotion to Charge Nurse, managing clinical teams and complex care needs.
Beech Manor is a home, not a ‘care home.’ It’s a place where our residents feel relaxed. We have a lot of fun here - our residents love trying new things and are always up for a laugh.
Natasha Cowan, Interim Home Manager
This extensive clinical background paved the way for her transition into management. After transferring to Beech Manor as Deputy Manager, Natasha’s thorough experience and commitment to excellence led to her appointment as Interim Home Manager. Today, she brings her full spectrum of frontline and clinical knowledge to the 45-bedded Blairgowrie home, ensuring high-quality care is at the heart of every operation.
When speaking with Natasha about what makes Beech Manor unique, her focus is firmly on the environment she and her team have cultivated.
“Beech Manor is a home, not a ‘care home.’ It’s a place where our residents feel relaxed. We have a lot of fun here - our residents love trying new things and are always up for a laugh.
It has been my dream to manage a home since I first started in this sector. My nursing peers inspired me to be the nurse I am today, and that is the same inspiration we hope to radiate here. I love that in this profession, we are all there for each other. You can really feel that support within the home now. The staff are amazing - friendly, fun, and deeply caring. It is a total team effort to keep everything ticking along, and I never take that for granted."
Natasha’s philosophy is simple: residents come first. “I believe everything we do should always be in our residents’ best interests. We’re fortunate to have such beautiful spaces, including our bar and garden, where we can spend meaningful time together and get to know everyone as individuals - allowing us to tailor the care experience around personal interests and hobbies.
“We also have so much to look forward to, from new ‘date menus’ created in collaboration with our kitchen team and families, to unique hand-casting keepsakes for residents to treasure. And as the weather warms up, I’m really looking forward to getting everyone back outdoors to enjoy gentle exercise and gardening in the fresh spring air.”
Outside of work, family is Natasha’s priority. She cherishes making memories with her two-year-old son and her fiancé. Whether they are going on family holidays or dreaming of future camper-van trips across Scotland, Natasha brings the same warmth to her personal life as she does to her professional one.
As Natasha guides Beech Manor into its next chapter, her blend of clinical expertise and empathetic leadership remains her greatest strength. Committed to transparency and community, she maintains an open-door policy and warmly invites anyone who would like to learn more about the home to visit, see the facilities, and experience the welcoming atmosphere of Beech Manor for themselves.
