Inverness Care Home Residents Get In To The Festive Spirit With A Heartwarming Christmas Carol Service
Residents at Kingsmills Care Home in Inverness have been enjoying a busy calendar of festive activities this year, including residents and local children singing Christmas carols, a Christmas light switch-on and to round off the celebrations the residents will enjoy a Christmas Day lunch complete with Santa and his elves.
Kingsmills Care Home is dedicated to bringing rich and valuable experiences to its residents all year round and with Christmas being a time to enjoy with family, friends and the community, it was an ideal opportunity to connect the residents with local groups for some festive cheer.
Nancy Scott, aged 91 and resident at Kingsmills Care Home said: “Christmas is such a special time of the year and just like everyone else we like to get immersed in the community activities and festivities that are taking place.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed our festive calendar of fun – it has brought such a smile to everyone’s faces and it’s great to feel connected to the local community once again.”
Kingsmills Care Home in Inverness cares for 60 residential residents in the purpose-built care home.
Carmen Trinos, General Manager, Kingsmills Care Home, said: “We have a dedicated team of activities coordinators that help us to run purposeful activities and outings for our residents all year round, and at Christmas their flair for festive activities really shines.
“This year we have been enjoying performances from local children's carol singing groups and to top off our celebrations we will be welcoming Santa himself on the 25th December!”
Kingsmill’s spacious environment has been designed to create a safe and supportive home for all residents. The home also has a large garden which residents often tend to in the warmer months, growing herbs and vegetables used to create nutritious meals at the on-site kitchen.
Kingsmills Care Home is part of the Renaissance Care Group, it currently operates 16 homes located across Scotland and currently provides care provision for 760 residents and employs around 1,150 staff.
