MEADOWLARK CARE HOME, FORRES
Meadowlark Care Centre is situated on the outskirts of the small town of Forres. Meadowlark provides 24 hour nursing care to elderly (generally frail) residents with conditions such as Dementia, Stroke, Parkinson’s disease and offers end of life care all in a friendly and homely environment.
Purpose built in 1988 Meadowlark is a single storey building set in its own well maintained grounds.
We have 57 single occupancy rooms, many of which have en–suite facilities. The home is split into 3 units. Pine and Willow are for generally frail residents with Beech being a designated dementia unit. The enclosed gardens allow for a safe and secure environment for residents to spend time outdoors as weather permits.
Residents can meet with each other in the main lounge areas or use the small sitting areas to spend quiet time alone or with family. There is a choice of dining rooms where residents can enjoy the dining experience.
Nursing & Medical Care
Nursing and general care is provided at Meadowlark by well-motivated and highly trained staff. In addition, residents are able to keep their local GP who will visit the home regularly. We also have visits from dietetics, the community psychiatric nurse and wheelchair services.
Each resident is treated as an individual and will have a care plan which they are asked to contribute to and which is specific to them, focusing on their abilities, aspirations and choices.
Catering & Services
Catering is carried out on-site, provided by our in-house cooks. A varied menu based on local produce is delivered. The menu is regularly rotated and refreshed. Residents have a say in the choice of food on the menu. Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day. Furthermore, celebrations and special occasions can be catered for.
A church service is held once a month for those who wish to attend and the home’s activities co-ordinator plans and arranges a varied programme of activities/ events to allow residents to remain as active as possible at Meadowlark and in the local community.
